Guiding Principles of a Pre-School Curriculum

5.       Responsive and supportive interactions with adults are essential – nurturing relationships – security, confidence, curiosity and communicative. Interaction with a caring adult, help build the child’s brain.
6.       Learn by constructing knowledge through challenges, repetition and benefit from institution by teachers and peers.
7.       Interactive teaching enhances learning experiences.
8.       Development and use of indigenous material enhance learning opportunity – use of locally available resources provides early stimulation and education. It also preserves indigenous values and cultural background, which is vital for cultural identity.
9.       Responsiveness to the context and diversity of status and experiences – support learning. To ensure learning opportunities are maximum for all children and all are included in every educational experience and activity. [Special focus/plans for special child]
