Get involved into your child’s school activity
It is found that when the parents are involved in child’s school activities at home, kids do better in school. Attend the orientation programs, parent- teacher meetings or any other occasions, when the school calls you. This way you will have a good relation with the school, know about your child in the school and know the expectation of the school from the you and your child.

Visit the school website
Visiting the school website often will help you to connect with the school and keep yourself updated.

Support homework
If any home assignments are given, help the child complete his activity exactly as instructed by the school. Create an affirmative work ambience at home. Avoid any sort of distractions during work/study time, like TV shows, talking loudly etc. Guide your child when required to complete his work – develop an urge to complete his work himself.

Send your child well prepared to school
Give nutritious and balanced breakfast and lunch. The child should be well dressed with proper school uniform {ironed and washed properly). The child should eat seasonal fruits daily. Adequate sleep is very important for the child. Send your child with required item properly.

Teach the child to be organized
Teach the child to do his own work himself in a proper manner. Thus he will be independent, skilled and disciplined.

Teach study skill
Teach the child how to study – being his parent you will better know, what techniques the child will use to learn better. Learning skill varies from individual to individual.

Show respect for the school
Always keep faith on the school. If you are having any issues, directly discuss the matter with the school and sort it out.  Don’t let your child get into the process.

Abide by the rules
You should know the school disciplinary policy and help your child to follow the school discipline. You also abide by and follow the instructions given by the school.

Be regular and punctual
Don’t let your child being absent from the school, unless he is sick. Let him reach the school well in advance the school time.

Find time for school talk
Listen about the school day from your child regularlythus he will understand his school – this is important for you and this way the school will also be important for your child. You should be a good listener.
